Description:

Walking around Dumbo, killing time before meeting up with John DeVore for a tour of his factory, I noticed how the entire area seemed to be playing a sort of tug of war. There was this extreme fakey-fakeness of designer eateries along with the promise of waterfront views against the cold, hard super-reality of industry, toil, and history. Here, weeds grow out from the side of this old factory.
