Description: Every dac needs some silicon… Here it is all discreet logic. Actual DA conversion is handled by 8 Burr Brown PCM1704 K”ing” chips, making possible true non over-sampling.
Actually, this dac will accept inputs with sample rates up to 770Khz.
The board at the back of the photo is the data receiver and controller, the following board provides two selectable custom quazi analog / digital filters and all “that” can be turned of for true NOS. In front, there is one dac board per channel. The final analog stage (not pictured) effectively has no analog filter yet on the amplification tested; Kondo and my own the NOS mode seems to be the nicest!


Master clock oscillators are not in this picture but they are 1ppm types, one for each common sampling frequency.
