Description:

The speakers are Eggleston Works The Nine here for review. Equipment on the center Ultrarack is, in descending order: Theta Carmen II transport, Benchmark DAC-1 (under review, and perhaps heading to my computer and AudioEngine 5 speakers in the office), Nordost Thor Power Distribution Center (under review, and too good to part with), Theta Gen. VIII DAC/preamp, and the unseen power supply for the Classe 6 preamp I use for phono. Amps are my upgraded Jadis DA-7 Luxe and VTL 450W prototype monoblocks. Cabling is all Nordost Valhalla. Left rack contains a Clearaudio Emotion turntable with Satisfy arm, Benz MC-Gold phono cartridge, NAD tuner, upgraded ExactPower EP15A, and Classe 6 phono preamp. Right rack is less important. Supports are either brass Audiopoints or Ganymede ball bearing supports. Audiophile grade fuses in all equipment. Also: Shakti stones and Hallographs (four, two in far corners not pictured in older photos), Apple Titanium Powerbook connected to Benchmark DAC-1, Bedini Ultraclarifiers, Acoustic Resonators, Marigo Signature 3-D Mat v2, various CD sprays, RoomTune and Echo Buster room treatment, and God knows what else. Main System Room Dimensions: 24.5’ deep, 21.4’ long in the listening area. The actual length at the speaker end of the room is 37’ long, extending from the front door through the living room and, via an 8.33’ wide archway opposite the right channel speaker, to the rear wall of the dining room. Ceilings are 9’ high with heavy wooden crossbeams, each 17” in height.
