Description: At the end of June 2000, Stereophile's editorial offices moved lock, stock, and barrel to New York, to this classic building at the south end of of Manhattan's "Fashion Mile" (5th Avenue), one block from Union Square, with its market and shops, and half a block from NY high-end audio retailer Sound by Singer. We were on the fifth floor. JA no longer had a view of mountains fom his office window, just the fire escape of the building next door. Culture shock after bucolic Santa Fe? You betcha!

Wow - I wish I could visit! 5th avenue and New York in general IMHO (which is very rose-tinted due to my favorite author Kerouac and his buddies) seem so very cool!

There's certainly no place like NYC. I love it and hate it.

New Orleans, for me, is only wonderful; a place full of healing powers.
