Following the piano tests, tenor Brian Cheney sung unaccompanied into the five microphones. The ranking was broadly similar to that in the piano tests and what I found interesting is that while the listeners' preferences occasionally diverged, their descriptions of the sound quality, which were only discussed once the listening sessions had concluded, were very similar.
