Description:

Pride of the remodeling of the Chambers Street building (and the reason for my visit) is the new listening viewing room. It features McInosh’s ultimate system, costing a cool $500k. Three of the three-chassis MC2KW amplifiers -- 2kW continuous power, 8kW on peaks! -- drive the front channel speakers – a pair of the 110-driver XRT2K speakers for L and R, with their center-channel derivative. Source was either McIntosh’s MS300 music server or the MCD201 SACD/CD player, and the preamplifier was the awesome C1000 that Michael Fremer reviewed last August. Projector was McIntosh's new DLP model, a collaboration with D&M stablemate Marantz.
